Our People

Robin Welland-Jones – Managing Director

After 20 years in the construction industry, Robin saw the opportunity, in 1998, to bring traditional oak barn-style buildings to his local area of Surrey, Hampshire and West Sussex. Over 750 barns later, Robin still takes pride in the individual design and construction of every Rookery Barns project.


Catherine Casey – Director

With a background in marketing and business development, Catherine keeps on top of Rookery Barns’ sales communications, promotional activities and client liaison.


Paul Kellow – Workshop Manager

Drawing on over 30 years carpentry and joinery experience, Paul manages our workshop team and is responsible for the manufacture of our oak framed buildings. Life for Paul is rarely without music and outside of the workshop his family, including grandchildren, keep him busy .


Christine Lester – Office Manager

Christine is responsible for the smooth running of the administrative side of things at Rookery Barns, including book-keeping, accounts and office supplies.


Daniel Smith – Team Leader

Dan started as a trainee carpenter with Rookery Barns and in seven years developed the skills and experience to become a team leader, overseeing the erection of our buildings on site. As a competitive roller blade hockey player and father of two boys, Dan’s life outside work is pretty full on.


Eoin Westman – Team leader

Eoin joined Rookery Barns with a wealth of experience in site carpentry. As team leader he oversees the erection of our buildings on site. In his leisure time Eoin keeps busy with archery, fishing and two young children.


Jordan Kirby – Skilled Carpenter

After joining Rookery Barns as an apprentice carpenter, Jordan was quick to hone his skills both on site and in the workshop, in particular becoming proficient in oak framing. Outside of work Jordan enjoys music and socialising.


Sam Shuff – Trainee Carpenter

Sam is sponsored by Rookery Barns in his NVQ studies as well as developing his carpentry skills on site and in our workshop. Out of work he demonstrates a talent for photography and is a keen squash player.


Clive Cobb – Trainee Carpenter

Clive has broad-based building experience which enabled him to become proficient in roofing and bricklaying before deciding to focus on carpentry. When not at work or studying for his NVQ Clive enjoys life with friends and family.


Andy Hammond - Driver

Years of experience in driving and working with large farm vehicles and machinery have given Andy all the necessary skills to ensure that our oak frames and materials for the erection of our buildings are transported safely to site, as well as providing assistance on site and in our workshop. Out of work Andy takes a very active interest in music as drummer in a rock band.


Ricky Cronshey – Trainee Carpenter

After gaining experience working across the building industry, Ricky’s passion for carpentry led him to Rookery Barns. When he is not working or studying, Ricky keeps fit through cycling, golf and cricket.
