A  All part of the service! Once you have browsed thorugh the website and familiarised yourself with our buildings, either email or phone us and we will arrange a visit to discuss the project and advise you on what is possible. This can be an evening or on a weekend if more convenient. 

 

A   Almost all our buildings require planning approval. For a modest charge we handle the entire process for you. 

 

A   If the building covers over 30 square metres internally or is within one metre of a boundary Building Regulations approval must be sought. We will also handle this and provide you with a completion certificate when the building is complete.  

 

A  Yes, everything can be handled from our office at Oakhanger. Once planning approval has been gained, our Contacts Manager will be responsible for overseeing the project.  

 

A  Everything you see from the outside is oak. The posts, heads, curved corner braces and securing pegs and the cladding is oak. The stud walls and roof timbers are constructed from treated and graded Scandinavian Pine. 

 

A  No. No further treatment of timber is required other than repainting of any softwood joinery items such as doors and window frames after approximately 5 years. 

 

A  Yes and yes. You may see a building on the website which exactly suits your requirements. In reality most of our buildings are bespoke and we can design yours to suit your particular requirements. 

 

A   Most of our oak comes from France. The French forestry industry is huge, virtually every village having it's own mill. The oak is responsibly grown in long straight lengths, harvested and replanted ensuring a plentiful supply of this wonderful, sustainable resource.

 

A  We supply across Surrey, Hampshire and West Sussex. As a local barn builder, we offer the advantage over national suppliers of being able to personally take care of every stage of the process, from design, planning approval and groundworks through manufacture, erection and roofing to the final stages of landscaping and interior fittings.
